About
Brooke is a Psychologist with a background in the not-for-profit mental health and LGBTIQ health sectors. Brooke's experience and training taught her early on the importance of collaboration and exploration in therapy, and her chosen modalities centre these as values.
Within this context, Brooke enjoys working with people to identify their values, goals, and desires for therapy and then weaving together modalities that may work for each person, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement and Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy as well as somatic and sensorimotor processing techniques.
While Brooke works with people with a wide range of concerns, she has specialised interest and training in healing post-trauma, including the complexities of shame, fear, identity, powerlessness, anxiety, and depression.
Brooke also has a strong background in sexual and gender identity, including minority stress, coming out issues, and working with people living with HIV.
